Managing Your Olive Tree Library

How do I download titles from my Personal Library at OliveTree.com?

• Update your BibleReader application. You must have version 4.03.025 or later installed. Click here for detailed instructions. Don't see an update available on iTunes? Please be patient! We have submitted My Account-enabled versions of every application to iTunes. If an updated version of your application is not available yet, please wait for Apple to approve it.


• Go to "My Account." Touch the My Account tab in BibleReader's Library screen and enter your Olive Tree username and password. (This is the username and password you used when purchasing books at OliveTree.com. If you don't have an Olive Tree account yet, you can create one.)


• Click titles to download them to your iPhone. In your account, you'll see a list of all titles you've purchased that are available for iPhone. If you don't see certain titles, they have not yet been converted for iPhone. Not all Olive Tree titles are presently available for iPhone.

BibleReader Features and Screenshots

Verse Chooser allows you to quickly navigate anywhere you want to go in the Bible. Three touches allow you to choose book, chapter, and verse.

Library lets you sort books by category, Bible version, and author—or you can scroll through a list of all titles. Library display now includes colorful cover images.

Complete Text Available Offline  When a title is in your library, it is stored on your iPhone. You can access all of it, all the time, without an active internet connection or complicated "caching" procedures.

Word Search lets you find all occurrences of a certain word throughout the entire Bible. You can also go to a verse by typing it in the search bar.

Search Results show each occurrence in context, with your search term in bold. Verse references are hyperlinked so you can navigate with one touch to that chapter and verse of the Bible to read more. Your most recent search results are saved as a "book" in the Library (check under "Categories"), so you can return to them later.

Continuous Reading means you don't have to hit multiple buttons to go to the next chapter or book of the Bible. You can scroll from top to bottom of any book. In future versions of BibleReader™, look for auto-scrolling, which will let you read the Bible while the screen advances automatically—without touching the screen to advance the text, and without chapter or page breaks.

Double tap the status bar at the top of the screen to go to the very beginning of any book you're reading.

Rich Formatting   BibleReader™ for iPhone offers our richest formattng for Bibles yet. In the English Standard Version (ESV), pictured here, you can see the newest features: clean chapter and line breaks, section headings and chapter numbers in bold, and red-lettering for the words of Jesus.

Note: Not all Bible versions contain rich formatting yet. When updated, newer versions will be available for free download.

Display Settings let you adjust the font face, font size, text color, and background color of the display, to make reading easier.

Using Bundles on BibleReader™ for iPhone

When you download BibleReader from iTunes, it comes with a collection of resources: a selection of different Bible translations, for example, or Bible versions plus commentaries plus cross-references. Purchasing different resources in the same bundle means those resources can work together easily to enhance your Bible study.

If you are reading the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, you may want to consult a commentary about "the peacemakers" mentioned in Matthew 5:9. Two touches—the first to return to the library and the second to select a commentary—will open the commentary of your choice right to Matthew 5:9.

Reading different Bible translations works the same way. With two touches, you can close one Bible and open another to the exact same verse.
